NEW Electronic Death Registration System The Washington State Department of Health is developing a new Electronic Death Registration System (EDRS). EDRS is an internet-based system for filing death records in Washington State. We are excited to announce that EDRS is coming to Pierce, Thurston, Mason, Benton, Franklin and Spokane Counties in early 2011, with statewide release to follow shortly. EDRS will be the method for reporting deaths in Washington State after its release.
We are trying to raise awareness about the upcoming changes to those who sign death records. Please consider publishing the attached EDRS ad and article in any of your venues that reach physicians. We are especially trying to reach physicians in specialties who sign a high number of death certificates like oncology, cardiology, or palliative care.
